Four-star edge from the class of 2023 Jordan Renaud announced his official commitment date is September 19 via an Instagram post on Monday.

The upcoming senior has narrowed down his offers and will choose between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Oklahoma Sooners. Both schools have a long history of developing edge rushers and sending them to the NFL.  Some famous defensive linemen that went to these schools were Lee Roy Selmon, Cedric Jones, Kenneth Murray, Anfernee Jennings, and Rashann Evans.

According to 247Sports, the Tyler, TX native is the eighth-best defensive lineman and 16th-best player from the state of Texas in the class of 2023. Renaud will be making his decision at the start of his final high school season so he can focus on bringing a state championship to Tyler Legacy High School.

During his underclassmen years, Renaud went to Palmetto High School in Fla., where in his sophomore season, he had 69 total tackles, 30 tackles for loss, and nine sacks. Last year after transferring to Tyler Legacy, Renaud finished the year with 66 tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble, and one interception. The Red Raiders went 6-6 and lost in the second round of the state playoffs last year to Cedar Hill.

Currently, Coach Brett Venables and the Sooners are the favorites to get Renaud's services according to 247Sports, however On3Sports predicts Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide are the favorites to land the recruit. Wherever Renaud chooses, he will be a key contributor to both of these teams that are pushing for a College Football Playoff National Championship.
