Diaz, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound point guard from Atlanta, Georgia, is one of the top point guards in the country, ranking as the No. 7 point guard and the No. 29 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class. He is the No. 3 player in the state of Georgia as a rising senior for Overtime Elite.

He held 22 total offers, including the Crimson Tide, the Arkansas Razorbacks, the Auburn Tigers, the St. John's Red Storm, and the Illinois Fighting Illini, among others. Diaz is originally from the Bronx, New York, and the Crimson Tide offered him on October 4, 2025.

During the 2026-2026 season, Diaz played in 16 games with 15 starts for the Cold Hearts, averaging 17.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game on 28.6 minutes per game. He averaged 43.2% from the floor and 29.9% from beyond the arc.

There is a possibility of Diaz reclassifying to Alabama's 2026 recruiting class, according to 247 Sports' Travis Branham. On the Nike EYBL, Diaz is averaging 20.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.
