Four-star tight end, Jaleel Skinner, out of IMG Academy in Florida, after announcing back in August a commitment date of October 9th, confirmed that his decision will be coming this Friday in a Twitter post.

The senior tight end is currently the first ranked at his position in the state of Florida and 74th overall nationally. Skinner's final list of six includes Texas, Florida, Miami, Florida State, Clemson and Alabama, and he has offers from several other power five programs.

Skinner visited Alabama in June of 2021, and reportedly had a positive impression of Tuscaloosa, but, hailing from South Carolina originally,  was high on the Clemson Tigers early in his recruitment.

With a similar build to Jahleel Billingsley, standing at 6-foot-5 210 lbs., Skinner appears to be in the same mold as many modern tight ends, playing more of a hybrid receiver role than true tight end. Though he has a slender frame, Skinner shows excellent athleticism and has a very wide catch radius, making him a highly sought after prospect.

The 2022 recruiting class for the Crimson Tide is already shaping up nicely with 15 total commitments, and ranks third in the nation according to 247Sports. The class features another tight end in fellow four-star Elijah Brown, who has a build more similar to that of Cameron Latu. The duo of Skinner and Brown would likely mimic that of Billingsley and Latu, who have been a nightmare for opposing defenses this season.

Adding another four-star, like Skinner, to an already solid class could be a huge pickup for the Crimson Tide who, after Billingsley and Latu, are weak at the position.
