TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama Crimson Tide returned to the practice field on Christmas Eve as Alabama prepares to face the Indiana Hoosiers in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Rose Bowl.

The Tide will get help back on the defensive front for the Rose Bowl, with a report on Tuesday indicating that star defensive end LT Overton has been cleared of his medical condition and is set to return to action when the Tide takes on the Hoosiers on January 1. He rejoins an Alabama defensive front that totaled 19 pressures, seven tackles for loss, and five sacks in Alabama's 34-24 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners in the first round of the College Football Playoff.

Alabama is the No. 9 seed in the College Football Playoff after a 10-2 regular season. The Tide fell to Georgia 28-7 in the SEC championship, wrapping Alabama's pre-playoff record at 10-3. The Tide defeated the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman, Oklahoma, in the first round of the College Football Playoff, 34-24.

 

Indiana is the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff and got a bye in the first round after going 12-0 in the regular season and defeating then-No. 1 Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship, 13-10.

 

Alabama will face top-seeded Indiana in the Rose Bowl on Thursday, January 1, 2026, in Pasadena, California. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. CT.
