TAMPA, Fla. - It wasn't a perfect game, but the Alabama Crimson Tide handled its business as a four-seed in the NCAA tournament, with a 20-point victory over the Hofstra Pride in the first round. Alabama delivered the killshot late in the contest, sinking all four of its final four shots and ending the game on a 19-4 run over the final five minutes of the game.

Alabama's duo of sophomores paved the way for the Crimson Tide's victory, with Aiden Sherrell notching his third-career double-double with 15 points and a career-high 15 boards, with nine of them coming offensively, and 4-12 shooting from the floor, 2-6 from three-point range, and 5-6 from the free throw line. Sherrell also had two blocks and a steal in Alabama's 20-point win. Star sophomore Labaron Philon led the Tide in scoring with 29 points, his 20th game this season with 20+ points. Philon made 10-18 shots from the floor, 3-7 from three-point range, and scored another six points at the free throw line. Philon was flirting with a triple-double with eight boards and seven assists, adding three steals to the Tide's win. Philon and Sherrell were a combined +37 when on the court together.
