ATLANTA, Ga. - The Alabama Crimson Tide may have watched its playoff hopes end as the Georgia Bulldogs dominated the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship, 28-7. Alabama had to fight, scratch, and claw for any yardage it could muster up against the Georgia Bulldogs, while Georgia could do no wrong, and everything looked easy for the Bulldogs in the SEC Championship.

Alabama will now sit in anticipation of the decision by the College Football Playoff committee, as Alabama's playoff fate now sits in the hands of the 12-person committee again. The loss wasn't pretty for Alabama, with Ty Simpson passing for just 212 yards and one touchdown with one interception, the Crimson Tide's run game netting -3 yards, and three drops plaguing what could've been a good game for the Crimson Tide.

Georgia, on the other hand, had three passing touchdowns, a back-breaking rushing touchdown from Nate Frazier, and multiple big-time catches by USC transfer receiver Zachariah Branch.

Georgia was also better on third down, going 6-16 in that critical phase of the game. Every error that had plagued Alabama this season reared its ugly head in the loss to Georgia, with turnovers, poor special teams, and failed critical moments costing Alabama an SEC Championship.
