Germie Bernard Expressed His Excitement in His First Iron Bowl Win
TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- It was no surprise when elite wide receiver Germie Bernard came from Washington with Kalen DeBoer. Since joining the Crimson Tide, Bernard has continued to make some impressive plays, but his most notable performance was during Alabama's last game of the season against their in-state rival.
"To win our first Iron Bowl, it was a blessing. God covered us in his blood, and he allowed us to come out victorious," said Bernard after clenching the win.
Bernard and Jalen Milroe had much success when pairing together to dominate over the Auburn Tigers. Bernard's speed and sticky hands were often used to give the Crimson Tide more yards and create some game changing plays. "We had the whole offseason together, and we have a lot of time at practice. We always talk, and just communicating and continuing to be on the same page is key. And obviously just execute, he's going to make the throws and my job is to make the catch," said Bernard regarding how he and Milroe's connection was an advantage on Saturday.
Bernard finished the night with seven receptions for 111 yards, averaging 15.9 yards per catch. Earning him a season-high in yards.
