Alabama basketball has been on a roll this year. After defeating the Auburn Tigers on the road, the Crimson Tide was rewarded the number one team in the nation for the first time in 20 years.

However, Alabama suffered their first conference loss on Wednesday, against the  Tennessee Volunteers, by a score of 68-59. The team went 17-48 (35.4%) from the three point line and committed 19 total turnovers.

Freshmen Brandon Miller and Jaden Bradley were leaders for the Tide, as they combined for 29 point. Mark Sears and Jahvon Quinerly on the other hand could not hit any of their shot as the two combined for five total points. For Tennessee, Santiago Vescovi and Zakai Zeigler led the Volunteers with 15 points each.

This is Alabama's fourth loss this season after losing to UConn in the Phil Knight Invitational, the Gonzaga Bulldogs in Birmingham, Ala, and the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman, OK. Even with the losses, Alabama is still having a phenomenal season as the Crimson Tide defeated the No. 1 ranked Houston Cougars and North Carolina Tarheels.

Alabama could still be ranked No. 1 by the end of the week as the Purdue Boilermakers were defeated by the Maryland Terrapins on Thursday. The only threat to Alabama being the No.1 team in nation our the Houston Cougars who will being playing the Memphis Tigers on Saturday.

This Saturday, Alabama returns home to Coleman Coliseum to take on the Georgia Bulldogs.. The Bulldogs are currently on a two-game winning streak after deafeating the LSU Tigers and Kentucky Wildcats. To beat the Crimson Tide, Georgia will have to have big games from Kario Oquendo, Braelen Bridges, and former Alabama player, Jusaun Holt.

The key for Alabama to win this game will be to not turn the ball over. Tennessee was able to get 10+ points off Alabama turnovers, which helped them pull off the upset.  A sold-out crowd in Coleman Coliseum will be loud as the hope to help Alabama get back to their winning ways.

If you can't make it to Saturday's game against Georgia, you can watch the game on the SEC Network at 5 p.m. CST.
