ATLANTA, Ga. - Alabama's playoff hopes now hang in the balance of the 12-person College Football Playoff committee, which will reveal its final rankings in less than 10 hours, after Alabama's 28-7 bludgeoning by the Georgia Bulldogs.

The Crimson Tide was ranked No. 9 coming into Saturday, safely in the CFP picture. However, that was before Alabama lost by 21 points to Georgia on a neutral field. Alabama currently holds a 2-2 record against teams currently ranked in the top 25 of the CFP rankings, with two of the Tide's losses coming to No. 8 Oklahoma and No. 3 Georgia. Alabama's third loss is to 5-7 Florida State.

The resume is shakier than it was at the start of November, when Alabama had four wins over ranked opponents and the lone loss to Florida State. Is Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson nervous about tomorrow's selection show?

"I am not nervous at right? It's not up to me. I think that our resume speaks for itself. We went through a gauntlet of a schedule. SEC is the best conference in the country, and Georgia is a really good team. It's pretty much as simple as that, right? We went through a tough schedule, and we're the most resilient team in the country. Our resume speaks for itself."

"I think so," Bray Hubbard said of Alabama deserving a playoff spot. "(Georgia) got us today, but we got them earlier in the season. That's part of it. We deserved the right to play in the game. We did what we did during the regular season. We played our tails off during the regular season. We played a tough schedule, so I feel like we are a playoff team. We've done what we've done during the regular season, and we all feel like we deserve a shot."

"They have seen how resilient we have been throughout the whole season," Germie Bernard said. "They have seen the strength of schedule. I mean, we kind of put it in their hands, but in my opinion, we deserve to be in."
