The Alabama Crimson Tide baseball season is set to get underway on Friday against the Xavier Musketeers in the confines of Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The baseball program has been on the rise under current head coach Brad Bohannon and are expecting to take another step towards competing with the top programs this season.

One challenge the baseball program has constantly faced are the NCAA's limitation of scholarships. The NCAA allows programs up to 11.7 athletic scholarships for a roster of close to 40 athletes, placing a financial burden on most players and their families.

The age of Name, Image and Likeness has changed the landscape of all college athletics and will affect college baseball by allowing programs to supplement the scholarships and ease financial hardships on families and athletes.

An independent fund raising organization, The Alabama Grand Slammers, has started up with goals of helping to grow and support the Alabama baseball program.

The Alabama Grand Slammers are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and member dues are tax deductible. There are four levels of membership and the higher the level of membership, the greater the tax deduction.

Each level of membership comes with different perks such as a locker room tour, field passes during batting practice, dinner with the team and even first pitch opportunities.

The Crimson Tide baseball program made the NCAA Regional round for the first time since 2014 in 2021. The SEC baseball coaches voted the Tide to finish 5th in the SEC West in 2022 and it is ascending as a program. The Alabama Grand Slammers are an organization that can help the Tide take the next step on the baseball diamond.

To sign up for The Alabama Grand Slammers you can view their website or email alabamagrandslammers1@gmail.com for more information.
