Mark Ingram, a former national champion and first-round pick from Alabama, and the Crimson Tide's first Heisman Trophy winner, was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame over the weekend.

Ingram was a top-10 running back in the 2008 recruiting class from Flint, Michigan. He signed as a part of Nick Saban's first recruiting class at Alabama, where he took Tuscaloosa by storm.

He helped lead the Tide to an undefeated regular season in 2008, but his 2009 season was when Ingram became a household name. Rushing for 1,658 yards and 17 touchdowns while catching 32 passes for 334 yards and three touchdowns, Ingram was instrumental in the Tide's return to the SEC championship in 2009. With 113 yards and three touchdowns against the Gators in the SEC championship, Ingram secured Alabama's first-ever Heisman Trophy. He didn't stop there, rushing for 116 yards and two touchdowns in the BCS National Championship against Texas to secure the Crimson Tide's 13th national championship in school history.

Ingram went on the be drafted in the first round of the 2011 NFL draft by the New Orleans Saints, where he carved out a 13-year NFL career for himself. In his NFL career, Ingram rushed for 8,111 yards and 65 touchdowns while catching 303 passes for 2,125 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Ingram joins the ranks of the legendary in the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame, including Paul "Bear" Bryant, Bart Starr, Joe Namath, Ken Stabler, Derrick Thomas, Shaun Alexander, Nick Saban, and many other Crimson Tide legends.
