Is Jalen Hale Out for the Season?
Alabama will feature a new top two at the wide receiver position than it did in 2023, with Jermaine Burton being drafted at No. 80 Overall by the Cincinnati Bengals and Isaiah Bond catching passes from Quinn Ewers in Austin, Texas.
The Tide was expected to feature Jalen Hale, who showed flashes of promise during his true freshman season at the Capstone and was having a strong spring practice. Hale suffered a lower-body injury during the Tide's spring practice and was taken off the practice field in an ambulance. Hale was thought to be out for the season with ESPN's broadcast crew reporting during Alabama's A-Day scrimmage.
At the Regions Traditional on Wednesday, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer was a little less committal to the "out for the season" tag on the sophomore standout. He did not rule it out, though.
"This season will certainly be a tough one, but I don’t wanna also say that he would be out the entire year,” said DeBoer at Greystone Golf & Country Club. “Also, it depends on how long the season goes. He’s done an amazing job, and the process and recovery for him has been sped up just even since the injury happened back in the spring."
“He’s got an amazing mindset about him, and because of that, that’s why he’s having that progress at such a fast pace.”
On Monday, Hale posted an update on his injury and rehab, saying “Blessed to see another day. And to all my supporters I’m rehabilitating good – One day at a time – Don’t count me out – The return will be Epic – What God has planned nothing can stop it. Sometimes we have to go through a storm ☔️ to achieve greatness.”
