Tuscaloosa, AL - Jalen Milroe continues to make history at the University of Alabama, becoming just the second Crimson Tide player ever to win the William V. Campbell Trophy, alongside former Alabama offensive lineman Barrett Jones.

The award is given annually to the college football player with the best combination of academics, community service, and on-field performance. It is considered by many to be the "academic Heisman" award and is highly coveted by many collegiate athletes.

In his acceptance speech, Milroe started with his signature "Roll Tide" which is infectious and can't help but make Crimson Tide fans say it as well. He also thanked "My Lord and Savior" for the opportunity to be a "servant leader."

"It is always an awesome opportunity to shine your light on someone else besides yourself," Milroe said on Tuesday night. "I'm very thankful for the position I'm in today."

Milroe graduated last December from the University of Alabama with his bachelor's degree and is currently pursuing a master's at Alabama while he continues his collegiate playing career.

During his redshirt junior season, Milroe passed for 2,652 yards and 15 touchdowns, while adding 719 yards and 20 touchdowns on the ground with an average of 4.7 yards per carry.

Milroe is faced with a decision this offseason, whether he will go to the draft and prepare for the NFL or return to use his final year of eligibility in college football. If Milroe does enter the draft, he will have one more opportunity to suit up in an Alabama jersey on December 31, when Alabama will take on the Michigan Wolverines in a rematch of last year's Rose Bowl in this year's Reliaquest Bowl in Tampa, Florida.
