As we countdown the days to Alabama's season opener against Middle Tennessee State, which is 93 days away, today is represented by former Alabama defensive tackle Jonathan Allen.

Allen, one of the top recruits in the 2013 class, chose Alabama over Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, and others.

The Ashburn, Va., native saw immediate playing time in Tuscaloosa, appearing in 13 games his freshman season.

In his sophomore season, Allen became a household name in Tuscaloosa, earning All-SEC honors as he recorded 11.5 TFLs and 5.5 sacks.

After another All-SEC junior campaign, Allen decided to return to Alabama for his senior season.

Allen's decision payed off, recording 16 TFLs and 10.5 sacks, finishing seventh in Heisman voting.

Allen was selected 17th overall by the Washington Redskins in the 2017 NFL Draft. A year later, the Redskins teamed Allen up with his former teammate, Daron Payne.

Allen has been one of the best defensive tackles during his six years in the league, racking up 33.5 sacks and 47 TFLs over 85 games. Allen has earned a Pro Bowl nod the past two seasons.
