Alabama Freshman Cornerback to Miss Time With Injury
Alabama freshman cornerback Jorden Edmonds, a former five-star recruit from the state of Georgia, is expected to miss time with a lower-body injury he suffered during the week of practice, according to a report by Brett Greenberg and Alex Scarborough of Bama247.

Edmonds is expected to miss a "few weeks," according to the report, after suffering an injury during practice, not during Thursday's scrimmage. He was ranked as a five-star cornerback from Sprayberry High School in Georgia and was the No. 20 overall prospect in the 2026 recruiting class, according to 247 Sports.
Edmonds enrolled with the Crimson Tide in January and picked up praise during spring practice, and was spotted getting reps alongside Red Morgan during Alabama's media-viewing portion of Tuesday's practice.
Edmonds' injury hurts the depth of the Alabama secondary, but the Crimson Tide still retain Zabien Brown and Dijon Lee as the two starters, with Morgan assigned to the Husky role in Kane Wommack's defense. Behind them are second-year cornerback Chuck McDonald III and freshman Zyan Gibson. Alabama also added Mercer defensive back Carmelo O'Neal via the transfer portal. In the safety room, Alabama boasts one of its deepest units, with Bray Hubbard, Keon Sabb, Ivan Taylor, Zavier Mincey, and Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. all returning, with Rihyael Kelley, Jireh Edwards, and Nick Sherman adding to the depth via the 2026 recruiting class.
The Crimson Tide will return to the practice field on Sunday, August 16. The Crimson Tide will scrimmage again in one week for the second time this fall camp in preparation for Alabama's first game against East Carolina on Saturday, September 5.
