Cuevas is a 6-foot-3, 245-pound tight end who started his college career at Cal Poly, where he caught 58 receptions for 678 yards and six scores. He spent one season with Kalen DeBoer at Washington in 2023 when the Huskies played for the national championship before following Kalen DeBoer to Alabama.

In 2025 with the Crimson Tide, Cuevas was a vital piece to Alabama's offense, even if the stats didn't necessarily show it with 37 receptions for 411 yards and four touchdowns (all career-highs for him at the Division I level). Cuevas was an effective run blocker for the Crimson Tide, and his absence in Alabama's final two games of the regular season and in the SEC championship was notable. He returned for the Crimson Tide's 34-24 victory over Oklahoma in the playoffs, where he caught three passes for 45 yards against the Sooners.
