Alabama basketball is on a nine-game winning steak and has yet to lose a game in conference play. A large part of the Crimson Tide basketball team has become freshman combo guard Josh Primo. Primo was honored by the SEC this week for his play and named SEC Freshman of the Week.

Primo scored 38 points this past week in two games against LSU and Mississippi State to help the Tide stay undefeated in conference play. The freshman from Canada contributed six of an SEC record 23 3-point shots made on the road against the Tigers on Tuesday night and four more against the Bulldogs in Coleman Coliseum.

Through 16 games, Primo has proven to be one of the conference's top freshman, averaging 23 minutes, nine points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal per game. In Nate Oats' fast-paced style, Primo is shooting 41.5% from beyond the 3-point line.

Primo reclassified into the 2020 recruiting class and was a four-star recruit out of Toronto, Canada. He was Team Canada teammates with fellow freshman Keon Ambrose-Hylton. The Crimson Tide's hot-streak has propelled it into the AP top 10.

Primo and the Crimson Tide will be back in action on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 6:00 p.m. when hosting Kentucky. The game can be viewed on ESPN and can be listened to on 95.3 The Bear.
