PGA star Justin Thomas announced early Thursday he will be featured on the cover of the all-new PGA Tour 2K21 video game set to release on console and PC August 21.

Take-Two Interactive, the publisher of all 2K Sports games such as the NBA 2K and the now defunct WWE 2K series, announced the return of of the first PGA-licensed video game since EA Sports tried to revive the once very successful Tiger Woods PGA Tour series (1998-2013) with Rory McIlroy in his place in 2015.

Thomas made his name at the University of Alabama leading the Crimson Tide to its first national championship in the sport in 2013. He turned pro after his sophomore year before making the PGA Tour in 2015.

He has hit a real stride as of late. Though the PGA Tour season has been halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Thomas brought in two of his 12 all-time tour wins. He won five in 2017, including the PGA Championship.

Thomas told the Washington Post he isn't much of a gamer, but has made a basic hobby during quarantine.

"I definitely opened back up a book [from my] childhood during this quarantine, because as soon as I started, I was like, ‘Man, I missed this. I do like this,’" Thomas said in the interview last week. "So I’m sure I’ll get back into it more and more.”

Thomas joins former Alabama running backs Shaun Alexander (Madden NFL 2007) and Mark Ingram (NCAA Football 12) as former Crimson Tide athletes to grace a video game cover.
