Alabama Head Coach Kalen DeBoer Provides Updates on Russaw, VanDeMark, and Lewis
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer provided some positive updates on a trio of injured Alabama players, including starting wolf linebacker Qua Russaw.

Geno VanDeMark has started seven games at right guard for Alabama this season. He popped up on the Tide's injury list ahead of Alabama's 29-22 victory over South Carolina, and was listed as a game-time decision. VanDeMark warmed up in uniform, but did not play.
"VanDeMark is making good progress, has been practicing this last week, so I expect him to be ready to go," Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer said on Monday.
Qua Russaw started three games at wolf linebacker for Alabama this season, but was sidelined for a significant portion of the year with a broken foot he suffered in Alabama's 24-21 win over the Georgia Bulldogs.
Qua has made — I think I mentioned last week — he's made good progress," DeBoer said during his Monday press conference. "That continues to be the case. Probably don't expect him to be ready to go this weekend, but he's doing a lot more than he has, and that's very promising with the direction he's been going."
Russaw has three total tackles and one sack on the season for Alabama.
Danny Lewis Jr. has made scarce appearances for Alabama this season, dealing with a lower-body injury that has had him sidelined since spring practice. He did not play in Alabama's win over South Carolina, being listed as out on the SEC availability report.
And then Danny Lewis, we'll see how things go through this week, but the bye week was certainly good," DeBoer said on Lewis's status. "He wasn't able to play the previous week, so I'm hopeful that he'll be ready to go. But we expect him to be on the football field practicing with us more this week than he has the previous two.”
The Crimson Tide will take on the LSU Tigers this Saturday inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
