Kalen DeBoer Confident in Alabama After LSU Win
Following the LSU-Alabama game, Kalen Deboer was very pleased with his team's performance. In an interview with ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe, she asks Deboer how he was able to "silence Death Valley tonight."
Deboer was more than pleased with his team saying that he felt a sense of confidence that the team was developing.
Holly Rowe asks Deboer about Jalen Milroe's "ability to use his legs tonight and read when to do that." Deboer stated, "The different elements the noise, it's a lot you have to manage as a quarterback, and for him to go make all those plays says a lot about the fight he has in him.
Before ending the interview Holly asks Deboer what he is feeling walking out of this rivalry game, to which he replies, "We are going to enjoy it for about two seconds, we know we have a lot left in the month of November to reach our goals."
In the post-game press conference coach began his opening statement.
Deboer: "I'm just super proud of the guys. The way they prepared, I think, led them to a place where we had some pretty good confidence coming in. Just felt like the energy was there all week long, and as the week progressed you could feel that we were on top of our game and understood what it would take to come here and play four quarters."
Jalen Milroe also put on an incredible performance in tonight's game to which coach Deboer says, "I think there's a lot of other guys that helped him get to those spots where were ahead of the chains...obviously he has a superpower when it comes to running the football.
Deboer was asked about Kane Womack's defensive plan and what he did to limit LSU's offensive opportunities, to which he stated, "I think we had to just keep mixing up what they were seeing." Deboer called LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier "a great quarterback and can kind of predetermine a little bit of where the ball might go." Deboer continued, "Just making plans when we had a chance, there were a couple of tackles we missed, a couple of edges we gave up but for the most part I thought we were pretty sound, we lined back up and played ball again."
