Proctor's status was in doubt, with the left tackle not practicing during media availability on Friday. Reports earlier in the month indicated that Proctor would not play in the Reliaquest Bowl and would be having surgery. However, Coach Kalen DeBoer debunked that report on Monday, saying, "We expect [Kadyn Proctor] to play."

Proctor, a sophomore from Des Moines, Iowa, the final 10 games for Alabama after suffering a shoulder injury in pregame warmups ahead of Alabama's first game of the season against Western Kentucky. Proctor also missed the second game of the season against South Florida before returning to play in Alabama's victory over Wisconsin.

He earned second-team All-SEC honors this season, totaling 60 knockdown blocks across the 10 games he has played this season.
