Former five-star edge prospect Keon Keeley continues to work towards getting significant playing time with the Crimson Tide. Keeley, a redshirt sophomore, committed to Alabama after de-committing from Notre Dame as a member of the 2023 recruiting class. He was ranked as the No. 3 prospect in the class.

A player with Keeley's frame can be vital to any team. 6-foot-5, 282-pound athletic freaks don't grow on trees. But Keeley has yet to see meaningful reps with the Crimson Tide. Where does Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack want to see the former five-star continue to develop?

“Keon is obviously just a frame, right, that is athletic and can move around," Wommack said. "He's gotta become more and more consistent in the things that he's doing. He's taken some strides, but there's a little bit of back and forth on some of those things as well in fall camp.

"And so as we push these guys, he's gotta show a little bit more consistency to continue to move up the depth chart. But the skill level is there, the want-to is there. It's just gonna be about continuing to kind of take that next step.”

Keeley totaled three tackles last season while appearing in six games for the Crimson Tide. He did not play in 2023 and redshirted after that season ended.
