2027’s Top RB Scheduled for Alabama vs. Tennessee Weekend Visit
Alabama has already gotten a head start on its 2027 class, with the No. 1 running back setting a visit for when the Tide takes on Tennessee in October.

On Monday, Kemon Spell announced his four visits for the fall so far. Alabama is the last school to host the five-star running back. According to On3's Ryan Snyder, the complete list of schools and dates he is expected to visit is listed below.
- Notre Dame- September 13th
- Penn State- September 27th
- Florida State- October 4th
- Alabama- October 18th
Spell committed to Penn State early in his recruitment in August 2024, and the in-state school was the elite running back’s favorite from the start of his recruitment. Now, it seems Alabama is making a run for the highly coveted running back. He is set to visit Alabama on October 18th as they take on the Volunteers from Tennessee at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
According to 247 Sports Composite ratings, Spell is the No.1 running back in the class, No.1 prospect out of Pennsylvania, and the ninth overall prospect in the 2027 class.
Standing at 5-foot-9 and 205 pounds, Spell possesses track star speed with the rising junior being a two-sport athlete at McKeesport in Pennsylvania, where he plays track and football, with Spell clocking a 11.17 in the 100-meter dash as a tenth grader. The class of 2027’s No.1 running back had a breakout sophomore season which saw him rush for 1,681 yards on 157 carries for 24 touchdowns as he led McKeesport to an 8-5 record while also making the WPIAL Class 4A Championship thanks to his 274 yard and 280-yard rushing performance in both of his games in the playoffs last season according to 247 Sports Andrew Ivins.
In Spell’s 247 scouting profile, Ivins wrote, “A mix between a tank and a jackrabbit, which is an extremely difficult combination to tackle. A naturally low-to-the-ground runner with true workhorse capabilities as he constantly bounces off defenders or cuts around them to find extra yardage. Spent much of sophomore campaign deployed as a fullback in a Wing-T offense. Ran absolutely wild in Pennsylvania’s WPIAL Class 4A playoffs with 280-yard and 274-yard rushing performances. Not a true burner, but can hit the gas when a crease opens up. Frequently thrashes forward at the first sign of contact and almost always seems to be falling forward. Tested reasonably well as a ninth grader at the National Combine in San Antonio and has impressed as a pass catcher on the offseason camp circuit. Fits the bill of a hard-nosed football player given the physicality he also flashes on defense while doubling as a cornerback. Must avoid setbacks, but projects as a potential impact player for a College Football Playoff contender that can move the chains while facing stacked boxes.”
It’s still early in Spell’s recruitment, and the Tide looks to be getting some interest from the five-star prospect. This would be a massive addition to Alabama’s 2027 recruiting class, which currently ranks eighth in the nation and first in the SEC, with the Tide holding two commitments from four-star edge Jabarrius Garror, who committed back in July of 2024, and Alexander Ward, who committed in November of 2024, according to 247 Sports.
