Kendrick Law Out Against Vanderbilt
One of Alabama's star receivers will miss the Crimson Tide's first SEC road game of the 2024 college football season.
Kendrick Law was downgraded to "out" on Friday Night's SEC injury report. Law previously had been listed as "questionable" on the SEC's Wednesday and Thursday injury reports.
Law has been one of Alabama's best blocking wide receivers this season, bullying Malaki Starks on the big run Justice Haynes had last Saturday against the Georgia Bulldogs.
Wide receiver Kendrick Law left Alabama's 4-34 victory over Georgia in the second half of the game. In the postgame press conference, head coach Kalen DeBoer said Law had a "lower extremity injury" against Georgia.
Law's contributions so far in 2024 haven't jumped out on the stat sheet, recording just two catches for 41 yards and a touchdown, and two carries for six yards. Law has been Alabama's lead man on kickoff returns, totaling two returns for an average of 38.5 yards per return.
Law's blocking at the wide receiver position has helped Alabama spring several big runs, especially when quarterback Jalen Milroe scrambles with the football. Law has started all four games so far for Alabama this season.
Law's status against Vanderbilt means potentially returning against South Carolina, or waiting and being fully healthy when Alabama takes on Tennessee in Neyland Stadium on October 19.
