Knights Dominate Both Sides of the Ball, Move to 3-0 on the Year

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- I'm starting to believe that only three things in life are certain: death, taxes, and Tuscaloosa Academy's Mark Norris carving up a defense on Friday night.

The Knights came into Friday night looking to extend their 2-0 record against Victory Christian, and they didn't waste time getting to work. The Knights forced a punt on the opening drive of the game and never looked back.

Mark Norris quickly found his running back for a pair of touchdowns in the first quarter, and followed it up with two more touchdown passes in the second. But that's enough about the offense for now.

TA's defense played just as big a role in the game as the offense, as through the first three quarters the Lions barely, if ever, made it across midfield. Not only did the Knights keep yardage to a minimum, but they also spent the entire first half getting the football right back to the offense. Victory Christian ended the first half with three turnovers on offense, all fumbles.

After a 35-0 first half, the Knights opened the second half with, you guessed it, another touchdown. Mark Norris finished his evening after that drive, totaling 15-20 and five touchdown passes.

Victory Christian was, however, able to make the scoreboard a little more respectable, taking advantage of several turnovers by the TA second-stringers. The final score ended at 49-21 in favor of Tuscaloosa Academy.

The Knights will enjoy their bye week next Friday and will get back to action at home on Friday, September 18.
