The Philadelphia 76ers Draft Alabama Guard Labaron Philon Jr.
Alabama Men's Basketball guard Labaron Philon Jr. got to live out his dream of being drafted to play in the NBA on Tuesday night, as the Philadelphia 76ers drafted Philon with the No. 22 pick in the first round of Tuesday night's draft.

Philon, a 6-foot-3, 176-pound guard from Mobile, Alabama, is the 20th first-round draft pick in Alabama men's basketball history, and the fifth first-round draft pick Alabama has produced under head coach Nate Oats. As a sophomore with the Crimson Tide last season, Philon led Alabama in scoring with 22.0 points per game while also averaging 5.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game.
Philon scored a career-high 35 points in Alabama's 117-115 double-overtime victory over Arkansas in February, shooting 11-21 from the floor (52.4%) and 3-8 from three-point range (37.5%). Philon also contributed 7 assists and 2 rebounds in the Crimson Tide's victory over the Razorbacks. As a sophomore, Philon made 50.1% of his shots from the floor and 39.9% from beyond the arc.
Philon is an electric playmaker with the ball in his hands, with the ability to score at any level, thriving specifically from three-point range and driving to the basket. He won't be asked to start immediately in Philadelphia, but could develop as a key role player for the 76ers.
