Landon Dickerson Headed to NFL Draft

Alabama Crimson Tide center Landon Dickerson will not use his free year of eligibility from the NCAA. Instead, the redshirt senior will opt to enter the NFL draft, he announced on Twitter today.

Dickerson transferred to Alabama from Florida State after his third season following multiple season-ending injuries. He started the first four games of his first season in Tuscaloosa at right guard before moving to center for the final nine games, despite having never played the position. Dickerson was named second-team All-SEC in 2019.

In 2020, Dickerson started the first 11 games of the season at center before suffering ligament damage in his right knee in the 2020 SEC Championship against Florida. His performance this past season before injury resulted in him being named first-team All-SEC, a unanimous All-American, as well as the Rimington Trophy winner, which is given to the nation's best center. Dickerson was also named as a co-winner of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy along with Alabama teammate Alex Leatherwood.

Despite suffering a season-ending injury against Florida, Dickerson delivered the perfect cap off to the 2021 National Championship, coming in for the final snap of his career to Bryce Young, who kneeled the ball to wrap up the victory.

Ever since his arrival in Tuscaloosa, Landon Dickerson has been a fixture of Alabama football and has made a tremendous impact on both his teammates and coaches. He is certainly regarded as one of the top interior linemen in this upcoming NFL Draft, however it remains to be seen how greatly his long injury history will affect his draft stock.
