The end of the road. Or should I say end of the runway.

By now, we've all seen or heard the news that Julio Jones has left the Falcons and has now joined the Tennessee Titans. And as the resident Falcons fan, I had to say something, because all my coworkers and fellow interns would kind of be worried if I didn't say anything about this.

And honestly, I am sad. Let's face facts here, as a Crimson Tide and Falcons fan, I was overjoyed at the fact a player of his caliber got to join my favorite NFL team. Who wouldn't be? For ten years he wore the red and black with pride. And his performances did the talking, rather than relaying on talk to get the job done.

I'll never forget the one time during a preseason game when he lined up on the field near our seats in the long gone Georgia Dome. At one point I remember he possibly made eye contact with me, I pointed at the endzone, and he simply nodded.

It's probable he was looking at the referee on that side, but hey, anything is possible.

I also remember all the spectacular catches he made. Especially the one where he absolutely mossed a defender to catch a deep ball that practically no other receiver could catch.

That game? Atlanta beat Carolina to ruin their perfect season. The crowd noise in that stadium after it happened was unbelievable.

Fast forward to now, and yes things were a bit hectic for a while there. But in the end, I am not going to be that fan that hopes he finds no success in Tennessee. In reality, when it comes down to it, you have to kind of forget the logos and allegiances.

I have nothing but respect for Julio Jones. And I hope his future is just as successful as it was in Atlanta.

Take care of him Titans.

And Julio...go get yourself a ring. You've earned it. I'll be rooting for that to happen.
