Jaden Daniels is the SEC's most dynamic quarterback whether the LSU starter is running or throwing the football. And No. 8 Alabama's defense knows he will be a hand full to stop.

"That’s going to be a big challenge for us," Alabama inside linebacker Deontaie Lawson said. "That’s something we need to prep during the week and make sure everyone has their gaps and know who has the quarterback in all situations. It’s a big part of their offense, so we got to stop that.

"When a quarterback runs the ball, it can hurt the defense. You know, anytime you have a mobile quarterback, it can be a challenge for the defense to stay in there and get a stop. But I feel like that’s what they do best. They run the ball nice, they have some receivers outside. Just got to be sound and disciplined."

So how did Lawson spend the bye week? Traveling? Nope.

Lawson stayed in Tuscaloosa during the break. He said the time off was beneficial for the Crimson Tide’s health. "I just chilled with some of my boys," he said.

“It was definitely great. Just time to reset. We know we got a long stretch coming ahead so just getting everyone right.”

No. 8 Alabama will host 13th-ranked LSU Saturday at 6:45 p.m. and the winner will be in the catbird seat for the final SEC West title and a trip to Atlanta to face likely eastern champ Georgia. The game Saturday can be heard on Tide 100.9, 95.3 The Bear and AM 1230 WTBC.
