It's college football Christmas as programs across the nation are welcoming in signees on National Early Signing Day. The Crimson Tide are one of the programs celebrating as Alabama is securing the nation's No. 1 class.

One of the premiere recruits in the class is Northridge Jaguars offensive lineman Wilkin Formby. Formby had already started practicing with the Crimson Tide but officially became part of the class by signing his letter of intent.

Formby was considered the No. 15 overall tackle in the class of 2023 and the No. 13 overall prospect from the state of Alabama. He joins a stacked recruiting class of lineman with Kadyn Proctor, Myles McVay, Ryqueze McElderry and Olaus Alinen.

The local star was recruited by Alabama offensive line coach Eric Wolford and chose the Tide over Ole Miss and other schools.

Formby became on of Alabama's lead recruiters in the class after committing to his hometown school in June. He was pivotal in helping the Tide secure one of the best classes in Nick Saban's tenure.

The 6-foot-7 tackle helped the Jaguars to a 7-4 season and ultimately his season ended in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs.

There will be ample opportunity for Formby to earn early playing time in 2023 after Alabama saw five linemen enter the transfer portal and will lose others to graduation and the NFL.
