Former Alabama Running Back Mark Ingram II Inducted into New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame
Alabama's first-ever Heisman Trophy winner, Mark Ingram II, was inducted into the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame, it was announced by the organization on Thursday afternoon.

"New Orleans means so much to me," Ingram said during his induction speech, "because I developed so much as a man during my time here."
Ingram played 10 of his 12 NFL seasons with the Saints, with the other two coming in Baltimore and Houston. Ingram finished his career as a New Orleans Saint in 2022. During his time in the NFL, Ingram rushed for 8,111 yards (averaging 4.5 yards per carry) and 65 touchdowns while also catching 303 passes for 2,125 yards and 10 scores. He broke Deuce McAllister's record for rushing yards with the Saints organization (6,500) and rushing touchdowns (52), and now sits second all-time in Saints history in both categories behind Alvin Kamara.
Before Ingram played for the Saints, the Flint, Michigan, native chose to play his college football career at Alabama under head coach Nick Saban, where Ingram was a member of Saban's first recruiting class in Tuscaloosa. In three seasons with the Crimson Tide, he rushed for 3,261 yards (averaging 5.7 yards per carry) and 42 touchdowns, adding 60 receptions for 670 yards and four scores through the air. His 2009 campaign was his best season in college, rushing for 1,658 yards and 17 scores with 32 receptions for 334 yards and three touchdowns, earning him the 2009 Heisman Trophy, the first ever at the University of Alabama.
The Saints took Ingram with the 28th overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft.
