Mark Sears Adds to Resume with All-American Selection
Alabama's leading scorer Mark Sears added to a college resume that includes the record for most points in a single season (797), previously being named MVP of the NCAA West Region in 2024, and First-Team All-SEC in 2024 and 2025.

On Wednesday, Sears was named First-Team All-American by The Sporting News.
Sears boasted another impressive season for the Crimson Tide in 2025, leading to his All-American status. Sears led Alabama in points with 19.2 points. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound graduate from Muscle Shoals, Alabama also averaged 3.1 rebounds and five assists per game for the Crimson Tide. Sears did so while shooting 41 percent from the field and 35.2 percent from three.
He has had multiple big-time performances this season, with 18 games scoring 20 points or more, including three 30-point performances against Missouri, Kentucky, and Florida.
Sears was the first and only player in the SEC this season to have back-to-back 30-point performances. With his game-winning shot against Auburn, Sears became the first player in SEC history to win three games over AP No. 1 opponents in his college career (No. 1 UNC in 2022, No. 1 Houston in 2022, No. 1 Auburn in 2025).
Sears also became the first player in SEC history to defeat an AP No. 1 opponent with a buzzer-beater.
