2026 Four-Star Michigan State WR Commit Set to Visit Alabama in November
Alabama is focused on finishing strong with its 2026 recruiting class, which 247 Sports currently ranks third in the nation and second in the SEC, behind Georgia. The Tide's 2026 class has garnered 22 commitments, including ten prospects ranked in the top 150. To start the week, Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide received positive news regarding a four-star wide receiver who is currently committed to Michigan State.

On Monday, Steve Wiltfong from On3 reported that four-star wide receiver commit Samson Gash from Michigan State is expected to visit Tuscaloosa for the first time on the weekend of the Crimson Tide's matchup against No. 10 LSU on November 8th.
Gash is the son of former NFL Fullbacker Sam Gash who was a full back for Penn State before spending 12 season in the NFL, and winning Super Bowl XXXV with the Ravens while making two pro bowls, following his playing career Gash's father coached in the NFL for ten seasons while coaching for the Jets, Lions, and Packers with his longest coaching tenure coming in Detroit where he was the Lions' running backs coach from 2008-2012.
It is clear that Gash inherited his father's athletic traits. During his junior season at Detroit Catholic Central in South Lyon, Michigan, he showcased his versatility as a do-it-all receiver. He recorded 42 catches for 731 yards and scored 12 receiving touchdowns. Additionally, he rushed for 347 yards and contributed eight more touchdowns on the ground, according to 247 Sports.
247 Sports composite rankings have the 6-foot-180-pound wide receiver listed as the No. 55 wide receiver, No. 6 player out of Michigan, and the No. 366th overall prospect in the 2026 class.
Despite Gash's more petite frame, he still manages to win highly contested passes. However, it still wouldn't hurt if he got bigger and stronger for college, according to 247 Sports' National Recruiting Analyst Allen Trieu. Gash is "More Physical than that listed size suggests. That said, adding weight and strength are keys for college."
Trieu also highlighted Gash's trackstar speed in his scouting report on the four-star wide receiver, with Trie writing, "10.41 100-meter speed. Can get behind a defense or take screens and short passes and go the distance. Seemed to get faster between sophomore and junior seasons." Trieu added, "Too much speed, production, and intangibles to think he won't be an excellent college receiver."
Gash's head coach Justin Cessante spoke highly on the Michigan State wide receiver commit with Detroit Catholic Central's head coach pointing out that Gash has played against many teams with Division one players committed to schools like Ohio State, Michigan State, and Maryland and every time he has performed against those prospects Gash has always came out as the most fastest and athletic on the field.
"I would say get back to the film and the numbers, especially against our schedule, where he played eight ranked teams with guys that have offers or are committed to Ohio State, Michigan State, Maryland, you name it. Even the kick return that got called back against Cass Tech, he was consistently the fastest guy on the field and the best player on the field, along with Jaden Pydyn. He definitely comes from a household of a bunch of boys who all have accomplished a lot at a high level. The family has a lot of talent, and Samson's competitive spirit comes from that. From what he's been around his whole life, he knows how to take care of his body from a physical standpoint, but also his approach to the game from a mental standpoint. He's probably going to be elected captain this year. He's also a leader and is respected."
The four-star wide receiver prospect has been committed to Michigan State since June 24th of this year, with the Crimson Tide offering Gash three days before he announced his commitment to the Spartans. Gash, who recently visited East Lansing, is scheduled to come on June 14th, marking his fifth official visit to Michigan State's campus, according to On3's Visit Center.
With his first official visit to Alabama scheduled for November 8th, coinciding with the Tide's game against No. 10 LSU, Alabama is set to provide Gash with a great experience. The Michigan State wide receiver commit will have the opportunity to witness a game in the noisy and energetic Bryant-Denny Stadium. This will be an excellent chance for the Tide, especially if they come out victorious over the Tigers of LSU, then Alabama could be looking at gaining all the momentum for a flip.
