Tuscaloosa, Ala. - The injury bug has bitten the Alabama men's basketball team harder than expected, with Alabama losing Latrell Wrightsell Jr. and Houston Mallette for the season in the first half of the season.

The bug bit Alabama even harder outside of the season-ending injuries, with Grant Nelson, Mark Sears, and Clifford Omoruyi appearing on the SEC Availability Report the night before games. One player who has missed significant time is Derrion Reid, who suffered a lower-body injury after Alabama's victory over South Dakota State in December. Reid worked his way back from injury to play in a handful of SEC contests this year, but has missed the last four games for Alabama after re-aggravating his injury against Auburn.

On Tuesday, before Alabama's final home game of the year against Florida on Wednesday, Nate Oats updated Reid's status.

"Derrion [Reid] has started back doing basketball workouts. He's still week to week - won't be playing tomorrow."

Reid is averaging 7.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game for Alabama in 18 games so far this season. He is shooting 43.6 percent from the field and 25.7 percent from three-point range, adding another 56.6 percent from the free throw line.

Reid has started three games for Alabama this season. His top performance came against Creighton, scoring 12 points in 21 minutes of play.
