Week eight of the 2025 NFL season is now in the books. The leaders for the playoff race are slowly emerging and with them the star players leading their charge. Lets break down the performances from this past weekend.

Bills - 40 at Panthers - 9:

Bryce Young (Panthers) - A tough game against one of the premiere teams in the league. Young was inactive for this game due to a high ankle sprain and was a game time decision that ended up in him not playing. The score and game flow clearly reflected that.

Bears - 16 at Ravens - 30:

Derrick Henry (Ravens) - A tough fought day on the ground carrying the ball 21 times for 71 yards adding two touchdowns. It was a nice bounce back for the king after a rough stretch of games coming out of their bye week. Henry looks to be back as the focal point of this offense going forward.

Giants - 20 at Eagles - 38:

Jalen Hurts (Eagles) - Th passing attack from Hurts is clicking on all cylinders as he completed 15/20 attempts for 179 yards and four touchdowns. After rookie sensation Cam Skattebo went down with an injury early in the game for the Giants, the game clearly took a turn. The Eagles performed great in a get back game against a divisional rival. Clearly one of the top teams in the NFC once again.

DeVonta Smith (Eagles) - Six catches for 84 yards, a modest day for Smitty, but one in which he played well and move the chains as usual. He was not able to find the end zone but with the way this game played out it did not quite matter. He remains a top target in this offense going forward.

Player of the week: Jaylen Waddle and Tua Tagovailoa

Jaylen Waddle & Tua Tagovailoa (Dolphins) - The go to guy in this offense is Waddle. With a huge win for Tua and the Dolphins as well. Tagovailoa might have had his best game yet, tossing four touchdowns with Waddle being on the receiving end of one of those for 43 yards. Great way to come out and play against a tough Falcons secondary when your team needed a spark. Great win and performances from these two.

That does it for the week eight recap. Check back Thursday for the week nine outlook.
