The NFL combine is underway in Indianapolis, Indiana, and while Alabama does not have the most players there of any team, they're still well-represented every day of the combine.

On Wednesday, defensive linemen and linebackers spoke with the media, including Alabama's Dallas Turner, who is a projected top-15 pick, Chris Braswell, who is a projected late first/early second-rounder, and Justin Eboigbe, who put on an impressive showing at the Senior Bowl in Mobile in front of NFL scouts.

Eboigbe was asked about Nick Saban's retirement during defensive linemen media availability on Wednesday, and he compared it to the Golden Girls, "All good things must come to an end eventually. I think people were like this when the Golden Girls ended."

While Saban was at Alabama for 10 years longer than the Golden Girls ran, the impact of both is seen everywhere in their respective spheres, and they're still making an impact in retirement.

That impact for Saban is made for new Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack, who has met with Coach Saban a couple of times since his retirement.

Dallas Turner is projected to be the next elite Alabama defender in the NFL. No matter what team drafts him, Turner has a chance to join former Alabama greats Derrick Thomas, DeMeco Ryans, and Will Anderson Jr. and win AP Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Turner was asked about his weight journey at Alabama, a somewhat odd question for an edge rusher who has produced every year in college. However, Turner showed he was similar to all of us when it came to the "Covid" weight.

Tuner had his best season in his junior year when he played at around 255 pounds. He tallied 53 tackles, 10 sacks, two forced fumbles, and even a pass breakup. Turner was a feared edge rusher for the Crimson Tide this past season, and should immediately help the pass rush of any team. Turner said he has met with a dozen teams, including the New York Jets, Washington Commanders, Seattle Seahawks, and Atlanta Falcons.

An interesting team that Turner has met with is the Houston Texans. NFL teams would have their hands full having to defend Anderson and Turner on the edges. Just ask Texas A&M how that worked.

Edge rusher Chris Braswell has been rising the draft boards throughout the draft process. Early he was thought of as a fourth-round prospect, now he is in consideration for a late first-round pick or early second-round pick. He talked about his pass rush technique with Chris Simms on Wednesday.

Braswell also said he's met with the Raiders, and praised the Raiders defensive line coach, who coached linebackers at the Senior Bowl for the American team.

Braswell said he saw himself as an edge rusher or defensive end, but he can play any position.

The on-field drills begin for the linebackers and defensive linemen on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. CT. Tide 100.9 will have coverage of the event on-air and in print.
