Nick Saban Selects Three Athlon All-Americans to Represent Tide at SEC Media Days
SEC Media Days signifies the start of college football season for many fans as its just a few weeks away from the start of fall camp. Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide will roll into the College Football Hall of Fame for this year's event on Tuesday, July 19. The seven-time national championship winning coach will be flanked by three of his most valuable players on the 2022 roster.
Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, outside linebacker Will Anderson and safety Jordan Battle will all represent the Crimson Tide at SEC Media Days in Atlanta.
All three players were selected by Athlon Magazine as First Team Preseason All-Americans and are expected to be the leaders on the 2022 football team.
Young enters 2022 as the defending Heisman Trophy winner and has placed high expectations on himself after calling his sophomore season a failure due to losing to the Georgia Bulldogs in the national championship game.
Anderson is considered by most experts to be next season's No. 1 overall draft pick after terrorizing quarterbacks for his first two college seasons. He has 24.5 sacks and 41.5 tackles for loss in two years, with the emergence of Dallas Turner and Chris Braswell on the opposite edge he is expected to have a special year.
Battle is the only fourth year player going to SEC Media days and is the unquestioned leader in the secondary. He has amassed 181 tackles and five interceptions for the Crimson Tide but, perhaps, most notably gave us his most memorable moment last season furthering the legend that is Coach Saban's humor.
