The Northridge Jaguars have announced their opponent for their upcoming spring game later this week - the crosstown 4A powerhouse, American Christian Academy. The game will take place on Friday, May, 21 at 6:00 p.m. at Northridge High School, and tickets will be just $6.

Sitting just under five miles away from each other, the two teams experienced big seasons in 2020. Northridge, who made their first playoff appearance in five years, won an impressive seven games - their highest total wins since 2015. Unfortunately for the Jaguars, their impressive season came to a close after they suffered a tough first-round playoff loss to Saraland.

American Christian Academy had a record-breaking season, themselves, in 2020. Along with winning Region 3 of 4A, the Patriots scored a whopping 495 total points in their 14 games - an average of 35.4 points a game. Led on defense by four-star Georgia commit Kamari Lassiter, the Patriots’ defense only allowed around two touchdowns each game.

The two teams have never played in a regular season, and while this game won’t count, it will still be a solid benchmark of where both programs stand going into 2021. ACA fell in the semi-finals to Handley High School, so the Patriots are still chasing their first state title since 1989. Northridge has never gotten past the second round of the playoffs. Still, both Druid City-area teams have state championship aspirations in the fall.

As of Monday afternoon, neither team has released their 2021 schedules, however, they will be available right here on Tide1009.com.

Tickets for this spring game will be available for purchase on GoFan.co only.
