One of the most notable squads in west Alabama is the Northridge Jaguars. They released their 2021 football schedule back in February, but there are several games that will be circled in Sharpie.
The Northridge Jaguars have announced their opponent for their upcoming spring game later this week - the crosstown 4A powerhouse, American Christian Academy.
Friday night, the Northridge Jaguars (6-0, 3-0) took down the undefeated Gordo Green Wave (5-1, 3-0) 17-13. While these teams have deep football roots in Tuscaloosa county, this is the first time that both teams have played. Junior Northridge running back LiEric Street led the Jaguar offense by rushing for 131 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries.
Football season is now underway- at least for high schools across the state of Alabama. Tuscaloosa County especially is seeing an influx of talent from all classifications. While all teams have only played one game, we are looking at several teams that have the potential to be battling for a ‘blue map’ at Bryant-Denny Stadium in December.
