Four-Star Wide Receiver Osani Gayles Commits to Alabama!

Alabama continues to roll on the recruiting trail in the 2027 recruiting class, with four-star wide receiver Osani Gayles announcing his commitment to Alabama on the CBS Sports College Football YouTube channel!

Gayles, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound wide receiver, plays his high school football at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, but is originally from Tracy, California. He's a composite four-star receiver, according to the Rivals Industry rankings, as the No. 51 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class, the No. 8 wide receiver, and the No. 6 player in the state of Florida. His primary recruiter for the Crimson Tide is new Alabama wide receivers' coach Derrick Nix.

Gayles took an official visit to Alabama the weekend of May 29, the first official visit weekend of the Summer. He also took official visits to Stanford and Washington, but cancelled the visits he had scheduled to Notre Dame and Tennessee.

247 Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins wrote of Gayles in his evaluation:

"-Gifted inside receiver with the intelligence, confidence and polish to elevate any passing attack.
-Manipulates defenders with impressive route tempo as he mixes speeds and snaps out of breaks at crisp angles.
-Can bypass coverage with advanced releases and easy acceleration.
-Tracks the ball extremely well and will find late burst when needed.
-Combative more times than not in 50-50 situations with his play strength.
-Slippery after the catch as he stacks cuts to avoid would-be tacklers.
-Not one that saw many targets come his way in a run-heavy attack as a junior, but did score on 40 percent of his receptions and has been a consistent top performer on the offseason circuit.
-Should be viewed as a potential high-volume slot that can get open at all three levels for a College Football Playoff hopeful."

As a junior in 2025, Gayles caught 20 passes for 492 yards, averaging 24.6 yards per reception, with five touchdowns. The big-play threat also carried the ball five times for 70 yards and one touchdown in nine games played at IMG Academy. As a sophomore at St. Mary's in California, he finished the season with 43 receptions for 756 yards (17.6 yards per catch) with six touchdowns. He also carried the ball 22 times for 218 yards and three scores.
