Philon, a 6-foot-4, 185-pound sophomore from Mobile, Alabama, attended Link Academy in Missouri for his senior season of high school basketball. Last season for the Crimson Tide, Philon started 29 games for the Crimson Tide as a true freshman last season, averaging 10.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. Alabama has had a player named to the Bob Cousy Award Watchlist for the second straight season, with Mark Sears named to the watch list last season. Philon was named a Preseason All-SEC selection during SEC Media Days in Birmingham.

He was a 2025 SEC All-Freshman Team honoree last year, becoming the eighth player under Alabama head coach Nate Oats to receive the honor.

After two preseason exhibition games, Alabama will open its 2025 men's basketball regular season on Monday, November 3, at 7:00 p.m. inside Coleman Coliseum. The Crimson Tide will take on North Dakota.
