Que Robinson: The Example of Leadership

Que Robinson has been a member of Tide football since 2020. He was a top-ranked prospect who possessed many accolades during his high school career, but he did not become a key player for the Tide immediately. In fact, he missed the entire 2020 season as he waited for his opportunity to contribute.

Robinson worked tirelessly to get himself into rotation and make an impact on special teams during the 2021 season. In 2022, Robinson expanded his role on defense while continuing his duties on special teams. Whenever and wherever they needed him, he would show up and make himself useful for his team.

In 2023, the Tide organization and its fan base began to see how much of a selfless and all-around team player Robinson was as he continued to be a major contributor.

As the 2024 season commenced for the Tide, he has notably been one of the team’s veteran leaders. In last night’s matchup against South Florida, he demonstrated true leadership skills as he became vital in the efforts to shutdown the Bulls.

Through the eyes of fans and the media, many could see how great of a player Robinson is and how his selfless character transitions well on the field. He expanded his characteristics even more after revealing to the media postgame that the matchup meant more to him and his family, as it was an emotional game after losing his father two days prior.

After the Tide secured the win and headed back into the locker room, people couldn’t help but wonder what transpired between him and coach Kalen DeBoer as they shared a special moment leaving the field.

Robinson stated, “He told me he was proud of me, and I let him know that I was here for the team and I’m doing what I can do even though it was a very emotional game for me.”

He then credited his father for instilling in him to always give it his all and do his best. He also shed light on his mindset during his waiting process, stating, “Everyone needs to have the maturity to understand sometimes you may not be the guy, but whenever your number is called, you have to go out and handle business.”
