Racin Delgatty, "We're Coming to Battle"

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - It's no secret that Alabama's run game wasn't up to standard last season, with the Crimson Tide ranked 15th in the SEC and outside the top 120 nationally (104.1 yards per game, 3.4 yards per carry). The Crimson Tide made several changes, including along the offensive line, with 11 new players and a new position coach, Adrian Klemm, tasked with fixing the biggest glaring issue.

Among the 11 new faces is Cal Poly transfer center Racin Delgatty, who held over 30 offers when he entered the transfer portal last December, but it was the Crimson Tide that landed the highly coveted FCS product, who has yet to give up a sack in his collegiate career. Delgatty arrived in Tuscaloosa at 290 pounds, but he told reporters on Wednesday that he's up to 305 now, with the nutrition staff, strength and conditioning staff, and Coach Klemm emphasizing one thing to this new-look offensive line: physicality.

"The biggest thing [Coach Klemm] taught me is how to be really physical," Delgatty told reporters on Wednesday. "I'm already a physical guy, but man, he's all about striking, putting guys in the dirt"

Klemm brings a plethora of experience as a former NFL offensive lineman, collegiate offensive line coach, and NFL offensive line coach. His physical play style during his time with the Patriots as a player and position coach has translated to what he wants to see from Alabama's offensive line.

"Physical," Delgatty said when asked how people will describe the offensive line this season. "With Coach Klemm, we're coming to battle."

Delgatty is one of three players with a starting position seemingly 'locked up' along the offensive line, with left tackle Jackson Lloyd and right guard Michael Carroll alongside him. Left guard remains a battle between William Sanders and Mal Waldrep Jr., while the right tackle battle is between Jayvin James and Nick Brooks.

Alabama will host the second scrimmage of fall camp on Thursday, August 20, with head coach Kalen DeBoer set to address the media afterward. The first game of the 2026 season is scheduled for Saturday, September 5, when Alabama hosts East Carolina.
