Last recruiting season, many, including ESPN's Recruiting Nation listed the Alabama Crimson Tide as the top recruiting class in the country, but with the recent wavering of top defensive tackle recruit and former Tide target Eddie Vanderdoes speculation has grown that a great class could get even better.

Listed as the 10th best player in the country by ESPN, and a consensus 5-star prospect by the four major recruiting websites, Vanderdoes draws plenty of attention. At 6-foot-3, 310lbs, he already possess the frame and the instinct to make an impact at the next level right away.

With his decision down to three on signing day, Vanderdoes selected the Notre Dame Fighting Irish over the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

However, as Vanderdoes is having second thoughts about his decision, ESPN Tide Nation's Greg Ostendorf said the chance of the talented defensive line prospect coming to Tuscaloosa is unlikely.

With Vanderdoes I know it came down to three schools: Alabama, Notre Dame, and UCLA and honestly I think a third choice out of those three.  He visited Tuscaloosa before signing day and really enjoyed his time, but ultimately he wanted to go to Notre Dame.

If he didn't go to Notre Dame, I actually predicted a few days before (Signing Day) that he might end up at UCLA because it’s closer to home, they’re on the rebuild, and he's close to some coaches there.  Honestly, I think that might be where he's looking to go now if he doesn't go to Notre Dame."
