Ryan Grubb Complimentary of Roberts, Carroll, and Formby After Saturday
For the third time this season, Alabama's offensive line did not give up a sack. The Crimson Tide's offensive line did not allow a sack against ULM, Georgia, or Tennessee, despite the Volunteers leading the SEC in sacks coming into the weekend.

Alabama's offensive line looked a little different against the Volunteers. Alabama's starting offensive line so far this season had been:
LT: Kadyn Proctor
LG: Kam Dewberry
C: Parker Brailsford
RG: Geno VanDeMark
RT: Wilkin Formby
On Saturday, the Crimson Tide's starting five up front were:
LT: Kadyn Proctor
LG: Geno VanDemark
C: Parker Brailsford
RG: Jaeden Roberts
RT: Michael Carroll
Roberts and Carroll made their first starts this season. According to PFF, the starting unit only allowed four pressures, with Roberts allowing zero. Carroll allowed two pressures on 25 snaps he took on Saturday.
It was an impressive pass blocking performance from the Crimson Tide's offense. On Monday, Alabama offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb highlighted the play of two new starters Jaeden Roberts and Michael Carroll, while also praising the effort of usual right tackle Wilkin Formby.
"Yeah, J-Rob has been getting healthier every week and I thought he played really good the first quarter and part of the second quarter, and was just great to see him out there," Grubb said. "And then Michael, he’s been battling with Wilkin (Formby). I thought Wilkin stepped up and I thought Wilk played really well. I thought there were some things that he hadn’t done yet this year that showed out really well. Still grooming Michael as a young player and I thought he did some good things as well."
Formby played more reps than Carroll did on Saturday (39) and allowed just one pressure. He has been Alabama's starting right tackle through the first six games of the season, but has struggled at times. His performance on Saturday was strong, and Alabama now has the benefit of two starting caliber players at right tackle, and three start-caliber guards who can rotate. Alabama also has William Sanders, who played 13 snaps and allowed zero pressures on Saturday against Tennessee.
