The Crimson Tide took to the practice field on Tuesday for the fifth practice of fall camp. With Tuesday's practice in the rearview mirror, Alabama is now 25% of the way done with fall camp, but is no closer to naming a starting quarterback for August 30 against Florida State.

Even still, Alabama offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb is pleased with the progress of Alabama's three quarterbacks. Here is everything Grubb said about Ty Simpson, Austin Mack, and Keelon Russell on Tuesday.

Is Alabama changing the snap allotment for quarterbacks as the second week of fall camp starts?

“Right now, we’re keeping status quo," Grubb said. "All the guys have been getting ones, twos, and threes with the exception of Ty, he’s the only guy who’s not taking any three reps.

"Really it’s been status quo, but today everybody got a couple racks with the ones. Ty took a couple with the twos. We’re still moving them around, and the guys know that. There’s a pretty clean picture moving forward throughout the week.”

What has quarterback progress been like since Grubb arrived at Alabama?

“They’ve grown a ton, spring to now, even first practice to now has been outstanding," he said. "I thought a couple of the young guys hit a couple bumps early on. I really thought they played through it really quickly. Sometimes you’ll hit that, and they’ll stay down. They get on the canvas, they can’t get back up. I thought both the guys did a great job, Keelon and Austin, of playing through that.

"We’ve had a lot less up and down with the whole room. I think that we’ve done a good job of taking care of the football, again, today there was no picks. I really didn’t feel like the ball was in jeopardy today. I think that’s one of the biggest things, is just improved decision making in the room.”
