Alabama added to its 2028 recruiting class on Tuesday afternoon with in-state linebacker Ryquan Butler from Loachapoka High School in Notasulga, Ala. He's a 6-foot-3, 205-pound linebacker who held offers from Ole Miss, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, and Auburn, among others.

His primary recruiter is Alabama inside linebackers coach Chuck Morrell, who extended an offer to the in-state prospect on June 1.

 

Alabama's 2028 recruiting class now ranks No. 3 nationally and No. 1 in the SEC, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking:

3-Star LB Dustin Henry
LB Ryquan Butler

 

Alabama is also in a position to earn a commitment from Benjamin Russell High School quarterback Kingston Preyear, who is the No. 5 player in Alabama and the No. 4 quarterback in the country. He's ranked as the No. 56 overall player in the class and holds offers from the following SEC teams: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Missouri, and Georgia, with offers from Notre Dame and Clemson, among others.
