Sankey Provides Funny Response to Tournament Venue Complaints
With the SEC baseball tournament underway, criticism regarding the tournaments venue is once again a topic of discussion amongst SEC and college baseball fans.
The tournament is currently held at the Hoover Met Complex in Hoover, Ala. The Hoover Met has hosted the tournament since 1998.
With numerous delays due to weather or games going long, fans took to Twitter to complain about the Hoover Met.
After Arkansas and Texas A&M went into extras yesterday, delaying the first pitch of Alabama and Florida, one media member complained about the long delay, garnering a hilarious response from SEC commissioner Greg Sankey.
He doubled down on it when Alabama vs. Florida went into extra innings later in the night.
Sankey is right, extra inning games can and will happen anywhere. While the complaints about weather are valid, there is no reason to complain about extra inning games. Also, it's free baseball! And who doesn't love more baseball.
