WOW! What a weekend of SEC Softball. Don't think we've seen that many surprises in one weekend. If we keep seeing curveballs like that, these last two weeks are going to be fun. For now it looks like the SEC race is down to two, although if either Alabama or LSU sweeps the series this week, they could stay in contention going into the last weekend of the season as well.

Alabama

Current Record: 40-7, 12-6 SEC
Current SEC Standing: Tied for 3rd (Tied for 1st in West)
Remaining SEC Schedule: at LSU, Kentucky
Predicted Second Half: 5-1
Predicted SEC Finish: 17-7
NCAA Tournament Bid Outlook: Probable Top Eight National Seed (Host Regional & Supers)
Commentary: Definitely not the weekend the Tide was looking for. Huge series at LSU this weekend that will decide the SEC West crown and No. 3 SEC Tournament in all likelihood.

Arkansas

Current Record: 30-17, 8-10 SEC
Current SEC Standing: 7th (4th in West)
Remaining SEC Schedule: at Tennessee, Auburn
Predicted Second Half: 3-3
Predicted SEC Finish: 11-13
NCAA Tournament Bid Outlook: In the Tournament, Likely 2 or 3 seed in Regional
Commentary: Another good weekend for Arkansas. The Razorbacks are playing some pretty good softball right now. Can they throw a wrench in the SEC race by upsetting Tennessee?

Auburn

Current Record: 28-20, 7-14 SEC
Current SEC Standing: 11th (6th in West)
Remaining SEC Schedule: Bye, at Arkansas
Predicted Second Half: 1-2
Predicted SEC Finish: 8-16
NCAA Tournament Bid Outlook: On the outside looking in
Commentary: The Tigers hopes of making the NCAA Tournament probably went out the window this past weekend dropping a home series to the second to worst team in the conference. Auburn plays a doubleheader Saturday against Appalachian State which will not help their cause in the RPI.

Florida

Current Record: 45-5, 14-4 SEC
Current SEC Standing: 2nd (2nd in East)
Remaining SEC Schedule: Georgia, at South Carolina
Predicted Second Half: 5-1
Predicted SEC Finish: 19-5
NCAA Tournament Bid Outlook: Probable Top Eight National Seed (Host Regional & Supers)
Commentary: The Gators are only one game back in the race for the SEC crown. Don't be surprised if we have a co-champion in the regular season this year.

Georgia

Current Record: 34-15, 11-7 SEC
Current SEC Standing: 6th (4th in East)
Remaining SEC Schedule: at Florida, LSU
Predicted Second Half: 1-5
Predicted SEC Finish: 12-12
NCAA Tournament Bid Outlook: In the Tournament, Likely 2 or 3 seed in Regional
Commentary: Raise your hand if you had Georgia sweeping Texas A&M... Yeah, neither did I. If can continue the hot streak, you'd certainly see some happy faces in Tuscaloosa and Baton Rouge.

Kentucky

Current Record: 34-14, 10-8 SEC
Current SEC Standing: 7th (5th in East)
Remaining SEC Schedule: Missouri, at Alabama
Predicted Second Half: 1-5
Predicted SEC Finish: 11-13
NCAA Tournament Bid Outlook: Possible Top 16 National Seed (Host Regional)
Commentary: The Wildcats have a tough finish with Mizzou this weekend and then finishing at Alabama. The good news for Kentucky is, with the work they've done already having a great standing in the RPI they could still pick up a Top 16 national seed even with a rough finish.

LSU

Current Record: 37-11, 12-6 SEC
Current SEC Standing: Tied for 3rd (Tied for 1st in West)
Remaining SEC Schedule: Alabama, at Georgia
Predicted Second Half: 4-2
Predicted SEC Finish: 16-8
NCAA Tournament Bid Outlook: Possible Top Eight National Seed (Host Regional & Supers)
Commentary: LSU dropped a home series this past weekend against Missouri. The Tigers haven't been quite as sharp in the circle over the past few weeks, which could mean trouble with Alabama coming to town to decide the West.

Ole Miss

Current Record: 22-29, 2-19 SEC
Current SEC Standing: 13th (7th in West)
Remaining SEC Schedule: Texas A&M, Bye
Predicted Second Half: 0-3
Predicted SEC Finish: 2-22
NCAA Tournament Bid Outlook: OUT
Commentary: They're counting the days until the end of the season in Oxford. More than likely three more losses coming this weekend.

Mississippi State

Current Record: 29-16, 7-11 SEC
Current SEC Standing: 9th (4th in West)
Remaining SEC Schedule: South Carolina, at Texas A&M
Predicted Second Half: 4-2
Predicted SEC Finish: 11-13
NCAA Tournament Bid Outlook: In the Tournament, Likely 2 or 3 seed in Regional
Commentary: Impressive weekend by Mississippi State. The Bulldogs success paired with Auburn dropping two this past weekend, have MSU looking good to make the SEC Tournament now.

Missouri

Current Record: 26-7, 11-6 SEC
Current SEC Standing: 5th (3rd in East)
Remaining SEC Schedule: at Kentucky, Tennessee
Predicted Second Half: 3-3
Predicted SEC Finish: 14-9
NCAA Tournament Bid Outlook: Possible Top 16 National Seed (Host Regional)
Commentary: Nice bounce back for Mizzou taking the series from LSU in Baton Rouge.

South Carolina

Current Record: 25-20, 4-14 SEC
Current SEC Standing: 12th (6th in East)
Remaining SEC Schedule: at Mississippi State, Florida
Predicted Second Half: 1-5
Predicted SEC Finish: 5-19
NCAA Tournament Bid Outlook: On the bubble. An upset over Florida could seal the deal!
Commentary: South Carolina might have put themselves in the NCAA Tournament with a series win at Auburn, which could likely keep them over .500 on the season.

Tennessee

Current Record: 42-6, 15-3 SEC
Current SEC Standing: 1st (1st in East)
Remaining SEC Schedule: Arkansas, at Missouri
Predicted Second Half: 4-2
Predicted SEC Finish: 19-5
NCAA Tournament Bid Outlook: Probable Top 8 National Seed (Host Regional & Supers)
Commentary: Tennessee did as expected and dominated Ole Miss. Can they keep the win streak going against a hot Arkansas team?

Texas A&M

Current Record: 35-12, 6-11 SEC
Current SEC Standing: 10th (5th in West)
Remaining SEC Schedule: at Ole Miss, Mississippi State
Predicted Second Half: 4-2
Predicted SEC Finish: 10-13
NCAA Tournament Bid Outlook: Possible Top 16 National Seed (Host Regional)
Commentary: Embarrassing weekend for the Aggies. Could end up costing Texas A&M a Top 16 national seed and hosting rights for regionals.
