Starting Guard Enters Transfer Portal
The transfer portal continues to peck away at the Crimson Tide's roster from the Final Four run just last week, although this one stings a little more for Alabama fans.
Starting guard Rylan Griffen is reportedly set to enter the transfer portal, and sources can confirm to Tide 100.9 that he is expected to transfer away from Alabama. Jeff Goodman was the first to report that Griffen was planning to enter the transfer portal.
The 6-foot-6, 190-pound starting guard played in 36 games and started 33 for Alabama, averaging 11.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists with the Crimson Tide. He averaged 39.2% from three with 2.1 threes made per game.
Griffen was a key contributor on both sides of the court during Alabama's Final Four run.
The pursuit of guards in the transfer portal makes sense for Alabama now that Griffen is expected to transfer. Griffen, a Dallas, Texas native, chose Alabama over Oklahoma, Kansas State, and others.
